Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC. Job Summary: Westat is seeking qualified clinical research associates to perform site monitoring visits at clinical centers conducting U.S. government and commercial-sponsored oncology and other therapeutic area studies. Openings are available in our Rockville headquarters or a regional home-based office, preferably located in the western U.S. Job Responsibilities: Assist with development of site monitoring plans, conduct site initiation visits, interim visits, and close-out visits of multiple therapeutic areas assessing compliance with the research protocol, ICH/GCP, FDA, and other applicable regulations, and write detailed reports of findings. Support site compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) including site training, performance improvement recommendations, and corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA). Contribute to site training, risk assessment, and quality assurance practices. Basic qualifications: A bachelor's degree in nursing or other health-related field with at least 4 years of oncology-related experience and 4 years of clinical research experience is required. Knowledge of GCP Guidelines is required. Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional organizational and time-management skills, and writing skills are essential. The selected candidate must be willing to travel a maximum of 10 days per month.
