Divisional Director of Business Development Behavioral Health

Universal Health Services Behavioral Health Division is currently seeking a seeking an experienced Divisional Director of Business Development. This will be a regional role that requires extensive travel to various UHS Hospital Markets Nationwide.

The successful Divisional Director of Business Development Behavioral Health will:

Provide support to the facility Business Development Department. Reviews facility reports. Plans, schedules, and conducts facility site visits and prepares a detailed site visit report documenting observations and recommendations. Assists the CEO in the hiring and training of Business Development staff, as needed. Participates in the development /coordination of national and regional Business Development conferences and training programs. Supports the facility during managed care contracting evaluations and negotiations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Facility Report Review: Reviews facility reports (daily census, weekly admissions productivity, monthly marketing/intake report, seasonal plan and CEO operations report) and supports the facilities in data analysis and strategic planning

Facility Site Visits: Conducts pre-scheduled and agenda driven facility site visits and prepares detailed reports

Sales/Marketing/Business Development: Evaluates facility staff s skills and provides training as needed. Provides support for advertising and marketing initiatives. Reviews all key indicators. Supports assigned facility's Sales, Business Development and Marketing programs. Meets with the Business Development team to assess strengths and weaknesses, productivity and training needs. Attends Marketing Meeting when appropriate. Reviews MS4 or Medik reports. Reviews and supports budgeting process

Managed Care: Supports facility in contract evaluations and negotiations, reviews payor grid. With the CEO and DBD reviews plans to address issues that are payor specific

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with UHS Media Policy. Supports the facility with media relations issues via the Behavioral Health Division Media team
  • Attends Flash and ensure Flash report is being utilized
  • Participates in development and coordination of the Annual Business Development Conference and DBD training program
  • Participates in the budget review process, as directed
  • Assists the facility CEO in hiring and training the facility DBD, as needed

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5-8+ years' experience required. Master's Degree preferred.

Requirements Include:

  • Experience as a Behavioral Health Hospital based Director of Business Development or have comparable leadership experience and in a healthcare business development role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and business decision making skills
  • *Extensive travel required
  • 5-10 Years Experience in Hospital Business Development. 10 years plus experience preferred
  • Bachelor s Degree required, Master s degree preferred
