Research Associate / Senior Research Associate

Tolerion is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company founded upon breakthrough discoveries in immune modulation of autoimmune disorders and neuroinflammatory drivers of neurodegenerative diseases. Our therapeutic programs are focused on some of the most important and challenging targets in human disease. Our product pipeline includes three candidates derived from our proprietary antigen-specific immune tolerance induction platform for treatment of various autoimmune disorders, one in late-stage clinical trials for Type 1 diabetes, and a fourth very promising program developing a monoclonal antibody that inhibits a novel target for treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Position Title Research Associate / Senior RA

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join our early discovery and development team. The ideal candidate will interact closely with scientists to drive discovery and development of new therapeutics through pre-clinical development

Key Responsibilities

Culture mammalian cell lines and performs in vitro mechanism-of-action studies.

Perform ELISA and RT-PCR studies on samples isolated from cells and tissues.

Conduct qPCR plasmid counting assays.

Perform antibody array studies to evaluate in vivo immune responses.

Position Requirements

Experience with cell culture, ELISAs, quantitative PCR and general molecular biology techniques.

Ability to routinely exercise independent judgment in performing experimental methods, techniques, evaluation criteria for obtaining results, and data analysis.

Ability to communicate and multi-task within a fast-paced team environment with a high degree of self-motivation and organization.

Strong ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.

Education / Background

BSc or MSc in molecular biology, immunology or cell biology.

5 years of working experience is preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus and the ability to work in and around common laboratory equipment. The regular requirements of an office environment (computers, computer screens, workstations, etc.) apply when not working in or around a laboratory environment.
