One of The Select Group's top utilities clients is looking for a mid-senior level Data Engineer. This position will sit in Charlotte, NC closer to the Noda area. The ideal candidate is someone that is a skilled data engineer who has a passion for all things data. This engineer will be responsible for data architecture, building data pipelines using ETL tools, providing data to the data scientist, and participating in the re-training of machine learning models. The solutions will be developed both on-prem and within the cloud. This engineer will be an integral member of the product teams, working very closely with architects and software engineers on different layers of the infrastructure and design.   • Experienced in ETL Tools (SSIS, Kafka, Sqoop, Informatica, Nifi)
  • Expert SQL knowledge (All types of Joins, CTE's, Indexes, Stored Procedures, SQL performance)
  • Should have knowledge feedback loop into Model Re-Training
  • Should be able to work with the MLOps to build data pipelines to model executions
  • Experience in Python & PySpark using spark ML, spark DL, Hive
  • Experience in data ingestion from various data sources like SQL Server, Oracle, Hive etc.
  • Good knowledge in Git, GitHub, Bitbucket
  • Good team player, willing to Experiment, explore and learn fast


  • Support or collaborate with application developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists to ensure optimal data delivery architecture throughout ongoing projects/operations
  • Design, build, and manage analytics infrastructure that can be utilized by data analysts, data scientists, and non-technical data consumers, which enables functions of the big data platform for Analytics
  • Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems that help analyze and process data in the way the Analytics organization requires
  • Develop highly scalable data management interfaces, as well as software components by employing programming languages and tools.
  • Work closely with a team of Data Science staff to take existing or new models and convert them into scalable analytical solutions
  • Design, document, build, test and deploy data pipelines that assemble large complex datasets from various sources and integrate them into a unified view
