Job Description Seeking a Database Administrator for the following role - Duties Designs, develops, implements, installs, and maintains enterprise level database systems in a multi-server environment. Must be able to troubleshoot and correct database problems and to proactively maintain the health of database systems. Create backuprecover utilities according to defined standards. Codes and implements stored procedures and triggers. At the higher levels, interface with the appropriate groups to ensure that database systems meet business requirements. This matrix applies to client server and mainframe Database Administrators as well as Oracle DBAs. It does not apply to positions in a single server environment or those positions that work with desktop applications such as Excel or Access. Responsibilities Designs, implements, and maintains moderately complex databases. Competent to work on most functions of database administration, but may require some instruction and guidance in other areas. Reviews Database usage provides analysis to management for system improvements and enhancements. Troubleshoots and resolves minor database problems, escalating more complex issues to senior level DBAs. Monitor capacity and performance, and proactively resolve minor problems. May maintain database dictionaries and integration of systems through database design. Installs, upgrades and configures database management system software. Implements security according to defined standards. Skills Solid knowledge of one or more database management systems to install, upgrade, configure, design, develop, implement, secure, tune, monitor and maintain required database objects. Solid knowledge of database design to produce sound logical and physical data models. Knowledge of SQL and coding techniques to code stored procedures and triggers. Experience with varied forms of data design, such as online transaction processing, online analytical processing, data warehousing, operational data stores, and decision support systems. 2-5 years of directly related experience.
