JobDescription : The Role: We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our U.S. Corporate Ratings Research Team as an Associate. This individual will be primarily responsible for maintaining analytical datasets and developing tools for evaluating, aggregating and presenting data to enhance the relevance and impact of our publications. This will enable the individual to contribute to high-quality cross-sector research for publications. Research and data sources include S&P Global Ratings' analytical assessments and financial forecasts, macroeconomic forecasts from our regional economists, as well as external providers of industry and financial market data. The individual will collaborate with other members of the Corporate Ratings research team in addition to our regional economists, credit condition committee chairs, sector leads and other senior analysts with the ultimate goal of producing value added "thought leadership" commentaries. The successful candidate is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, is customer-oriented, and demonstrates excellent presentation skills for both an internal and external audience. Your Skills: The successful candidate will have relevant experience; working in a research role for a financial firm or media outlet - with demonstrable quantitative skills being essential. Excellent writing and presentation skills, knowledge of financial markets and a strong analytical mind-set are key requirements. Experience understanding economic and market data platforms such as Data-stream is advantageous. A specific background in corporate credit analysis is also helpful, although not required. Pro-active team player with a strong work ethic, a "can-do" attitude and a desire to learn is a plus. Proficient in Bloomberg and other similar platforms for market research is also advantageous. An ability to be a "self-starter" working in a non-structured environment is an important attribute. Qualifications/Experience: ?A higher university degree in Finance/Economics or another relevant subject area ?3 years of experience working in a research role for a financial firm or media outlet ?Strong writing and presentation skills; ability to identify key messages and communicate clearly and concisely ?Strong excel/word/power-point, infographic and database application skills ?Strength in identifying key messages, with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely ?Familiarity with R and/or python and SQL ? Experience maintaining and analyzing financial data, with a proven ability to display analytical insights in a clear and compelling manner in publications ?Solid knowledge of the basics of credit analysis and ability to understand company financial statements ?Excellent attention to detail ?Team player with an ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adhere to all deadlines
