Oaktree is looking to hire an internal marketing rep for the Americas intermediary distribution business to work alongside the external sales team. The internal rep will partner with external marketing representatives to develop and maintain relationships with (i) private bankers and financial advisors (ii) RIA Firms and (iii) Family Offices. The internal marketing rep will represent all Oaktree strategies and will be required to possess and develop a deep understanding of a broad alternative investment product set. Responsibilities: Partner with the external sales team to generate sales across the Intermediary channel and execute each regional business plan. Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with key individuals in management, research, product development and sales at potential partner firms and with qualified direct HNW investors; Continue to reinforce Oaktree as a solutions provider with each firm Follow up on inbound leads and routing potential sales opportunities Research accounts and marketing databases to expand prospect list Coordinate roadshow activities and book sales meetings Client management for administrative and service issues Coverage Model: The internal sale rep for the Americas would be part of the intermediary distribution team. The team is segmented into three territories; Eastern (including Quebec and the Maritime Provinces), Mid-West (including Ontario) and West (including Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia). The internal rep will work across the territories. Qualifications 3-5 years client service/relationship management experience within the investment management industry, experience servicing and selling to a broad range of clients including: private bankers, financial advisors, high net worth/retail clients as well as RIAs and Family Offices Familiarity with alternative investment strategies required; Proven track record in developing relationships and servicing clients; and Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel as well as marketing databases Personal Attributes The successful candidate will have outstanding presentation skills, strong initiative, a solid work ethic, and be client-service oriented; Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; Outstanding organizational skills with a strong attention to detail; Self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative; Open and available to travel; and Team-oriented with strong integrity and professionalism.
