Position OverviewThe Toys business at NPD works with some of the most exciting companies in the industry. This team is currently seeking an Account Specialist to be an integral member of an account team dedicated to leading Toys companies. The Specialist will be highly engaged in managing and growing the relationships at their clients, providing them with value-added insights for decision making and driving revenue growth across your assigned group of accounts. The position provides the opportunity to make an impact through existing analytical skills, while developing the knowledge and skills required for continued success in client development and market research solutions.Responsibilities:Analytics & Insights:Leveraging POS, Consumer and other NPD data sources to develop insights which help our Clients and Partners grow their business and gain market shareProactively searching for meaningful trends within our data and sharing findings with clients and Toy team membersCreating innovative ways to demonstrate the value of NPD's services first hand through the application of custom analysisClient Service:Managing the day-to-day account servicing for our clients, including managing data access rights, training, and answering inquiriesBeing exceedingly familiar with NPD's retail point-of-sale and consumer panel data, methodology and tools for accessing dataBusiness Development Support:Crafting materials which best position NPD's services as solutions for our clientsSupporting internal KPI tracking reports which help set team initiatives and strategyManaging Salesforce for assigned accountsPartnering with cross-functional departments to drive initiatives which support the sale and delivery of NPD's solutionsClient Intelligence:Understanding our Manufacturer Clients' and Retail Partners' organizations and their business strategies, objectives, and challengesAssist in expanding the client base to include a broader mix of end-users and to uncover new buying centersFinding meaningful ways to apply intelligence in the client development processQualifications:Bachelor's degree2-5 year(s) of prior of experience in a role which utilizes data and analysis to add value to clientsAbility to weave together diverse data sets into succinct, cohesive and impactful stories.Advanced interpersonal skills and strong orientation towards building client relationshipsA desire to learn client services, account management, and sales skillsExcellent time management and organizational skills. Able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multitasking environmentSelf-starter who takes action to achieve goals beyond expectationsConfident in presenting to groups via phone, WebEx and in-personExpert in all MS Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, & Word.Highly detail oriented - with commitment to total quality and data accuracyVery strong oral and written communication skillsExposure to point-of-sale and consumer panel data is a plusKnowledge of, and passion for, the Toy Industry is a plusPrior experience working with clients is a plusAbility to travel (typically 10% - 15%)The NPD Group, Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
