NIBR Oncology is seeking an experienced software/data engineer to drive the development of world-class solutions to support our research & translational efforts. Your work would directly accelerate research to bring new, life-saving products to the clinic.
Your first project would be focused on building the data catalog for research/preclinical data in NIBR Oncology, including marshalling, transforming, and visualization of both internal and publicly available data for bioinformaticians and scientists. You would have opportunities to create and refactor the preclinical tool/data landscape to realize this vision. Ultimately your efforts would impact the generation of exciting new scientific hypotheses.
Work as a member of an agile cross functional team to deliver data pipelines and software projects to enhance the integration, management and visualization of a range of different research results and genomics datasets.
Collaborate with bioinformaticians & other stakeholders to leverage their understanding of the data and the needs of the scientific community.
Collaborate with the wider informatics community to understand the enterprise services which can be leveraged to support our solutions.
Adopt and improve on the strong engineering practices followed by the team.
Actively participate in agile work practices to frequently deliver high quality software/solutions.
Deliver clear, maintainable, and well-tested software in a timely manner.
Leverage your expertise to provide feedback and mentoring to other team members.

B.S./M.S. in computer science.
2+ years of experience designing and delivering applications & tools
Practical experience and passion for agile software development practices.
Knowledge of build systems and version control systems such as Git.
Knowledge of cloud environments, ideally AWS. Understanding of services and architectural patterns to build scalable/high performance applications.
Familiarity with database technology and SQL
Proficient with a modern front end frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
Exposure to bioinformatics & data science is a plus
