Department:

MML Investors Services, founded in 1981, is a broker-dealer and registered investment advisor with over $230B in Assets Under Management that helps clients achieve their financial goals by offering a wide array of quality investment products and services including mutual funds, variable annuities, variable life insurance, brokerage accounts, and portfolio management services.

General Purpose of Role:

The Business Acceptance Specialist is responsible for principally reviewing MML Investors Services (MMLIS) Registered Representatives? business submissions. This role is a significant component in mitigating risk for the firm by evaluating new business to insure viability and a reasonable fit for each client. Once suitability has been determined, insure business rationale is reflected in comprehensive documentation for each new business file.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct back-office suitability review and firm-acceptance of securities applications. Identify, understand, and problem solve product and procedural related issues. Assume full ownership of escalated cases; consult appropriate resources and identify customer focused resolutions compliant with regulatory guidelines. Acquire and maintain expert level knowledge of products and riders sold through our approved carriers and product sponsors. Must demonstrate and leverage superior communication skills to influence and educate field agency personnel. Work collaboratively with aligned Regional Supervisory Directors, Field Support Consultants, and Manager to identify and address training gaps and/or trends.

Qualifications:

  • 2 ? 4 years of academic business experience or 4 years equivalent securities experience.
  • Both FINRA Series 7 and 24 obtained within?90 days.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; team player, self-motivated; approachable style.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • High degree of ownership and sense of urgency.
  • Extensive working knowledge or ability to learn the following systems: Streetscape, Fidelity Brokerage System Interface (FBSI), Minningham and Oelrich (M&O), Caesar, DST Vision, Fieldnet, QUEST.?
  • College degree preferred with a concentration in business or finance.
  • Must be able to think independently and tactfully challenge the opinions of others.
  • High aptitude for effective problem resolution.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills essential.
