My client, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company located in a western Boston suburb, has a diversified commercial product portfolio in CNS. Their pipeline is strong and expanding and includes late-stage drug candidates for the treatments of schizophrenia and major depressive disorder, along with three promising new drug candidates in the areas of multiple sclerosis, pain and oncology.

This company is in an exciting phase of growth with a diversified portfolio of commercial products and an exciting late-stage pipeline. My client is looking for a Product Marketing, Payer Marketing to join the payer marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the growth of an inline product for this company.


  • Prior pharmaceutical US focused marketing experience preferred (payer ideal but will also look at HCP, consumer). Will also consider candidates currently in account management or another managed markets focused function
  • Will also consider candidates from the agency side
  • Experience with biologics, buy and bill and injectables a plus
  • Quick learner

  • Strong communication skills
  • Desire and ability to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  • Boston based or able to relocate to the Boston area

  • Development of personal and non-personal tactics and programs to support the Managed Markets team
  • Development and enhancement of Access, Reimbursement and Pull Through resources for the Healthcare Provider audience
  • Lead presence at key national Payer Conferences
  • Manage and optimize Payer media plan
  • Lead and monitor multi-channel Pull Through initiatives
  • Manage relationship with key vendors and partners
  • Assist with creative agency management, status meetings, program schedules, and budgetary management
  • Manage medical, legal and regulatory review process for access and reimbursement materials
  • Contribute to development of training programs and workshops for Access, Reimbursement and Pull Through in collaboration with Training
  • Support and contribute to development of materials/ resources for national meetings
  • Work closely with Marketing Operations to plan and manage print and fulfillment for Access and Reimbursement materials

  • Bachelor's degree in business/science (MBA Preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager with pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
  • Payer marketing experience (1-2 years) strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of payer environment and understanding of the evolving reimbursement landscape preferred
  • Pharmaceutical product launch experience preferred
  • Knowledge of CNS preferred
  • Understanding of the FDA promotional guidelines and Medical/Legal/Regulatory review and approval process
  • Ability to work across multiple functions (sales, brand marketing, market research, policy, medical affairs, finance)
  • Proficient management of agencies to develop and implement creative programs and tactics
  • Proficient in budget management
  • Strong analytical skills Strong communication skills (writing and verbal)
  • Boston based or able to relocate to the Boston area
  • Overnight travel up to 20%
