The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

Develops and conducts the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under direction of the senior business development leader, for opportunities associated with the DoD Ground Platforms. Key technology focus areas include: Test & Diagnostic (On Platform and Off Platform), vehicle electronics (power, sensors, fire control), operational energy (high voltage), Mission Critical Computing and System of Systems integrations.

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan or Huntsville, Alabama

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under direction of the senior business development leader or site leader
  • Provide strategic and tactical input to the business development leader by evaluating new initiatives and business opportunities
  • Conduct market analysis, and competitive activity associated with US Army and USMC Ground Combat and Tactical platforms
  • Identifies, qualifies and explores customer needs
  • Provide assistance in the planning, designing, and implementing of business plans
  • Assist with the follow through and deployment of the Company's vision, strategies, and tactics
  • Closely Coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other campaigns, departments and/or functions
  • Develop and track project schedules/milestones
  • Participate/coordinate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships
  • May manage Business Development staff
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Support Capture and Proposal efforts
  • Communicates with current and future acquisition and requirements development customers in order to ensure they are fully aware and educated about current and future DLE Land Electronics capabilities and solutions
  • Provides customer feedback to the Senior Business Development leader and overall BD team
Job Responsibilities Part II
  • Make presentations on Company portfolio of products and services
  • Attend business meetings as requested
  • Support and attend trade shows
  • Support product evaluation events
  • Closely coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other campaigns, departments and/or functions
Qualifications
  • 5+ years and Bachelor's degree in marketing or engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred or ability to obtain a security clearance is required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work on complex problems
  • Knowledge of Company products, markets and technology
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Strong familiarization with DoD, Army and Marine Corps programs and budgets
  • Strong knowledge of US Army and USMC Ground Combat and Tactical Platforms capability development, requirements development, acquisition and sustainability decision makers and developers
