Are you interested in applying your knowledge of human neurophysiology to help develop brain machine interfaces? Are you motivated by being part of a world-class, multidisciplinary team within an applied research setting? If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL. We are seeking a neurophysiologist with machine learning and signal processing expertise to help us develop state-of-the-art strategies for humans to control wearable systems. You'll join our team of neuroscientists, physicists, electrical and software engineers in our mission to develop the next generation of noninvasive brain-machine interface (BMI) systems. As a Human Neurophysiology Researcher * Your primary responsibility will be to lead research and development into state-of-the-art real-time decoding strategies for brain-machine interface systems. * You will develop signal analyses to validate the functionality of novel neural signal acquisition hardware systems. * You will communicate information about planned experiments and the results of data analyses to internal and external stakeholders and research sponsors. * You will acquire neural signals and behavioral data from human participants performing cognitive, sensory, and motor tasks. * You will design and perform novel analyses of neural signals collected during cognitive, sensory, and motor tasks. You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you * Have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline. * Are familiar with brain electrophysiological signal processing and applying machine learning algorithms to neural signals. * Have strong verbal and written communication skills. * Have experience acquiring neural signals and behavioral data from humans. * Have experience programming in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C . *You are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. *Security clearance eligibility requires you to be a US citizen. You meet our desired qualifications for the job if you * Have experience analyzing functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), electrocorticographic (ECoG), electroencephalography (EEG), magnetoencephalography (MEG), local field potentials (LFPs), and/or spiking neural signals.
