Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center ( EIRMC ) is looking for a data analyst that will support the Trauma Department in our endeavor to maintain our current Level 2 Trauma certification designation.

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a modern, Joint Commission-accredited, 330-bed full-service hospital located in Idaho Falls. Responsibilities:

*Responsible for aspects of the Trauma Registry to include data abstraction, data entry, ICD and AIS coding.

*Reviews, analyzes, and monitors data from EMS run sheets and medical records for quality of care provided, identifies opportunities for performance process improvement, and initiates process for review of those findings.

*Supports the Trauma Program to ensure Level 2 Trauma Verification by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma is maintained.

Previous experience with ICD-10/ AIS coding preferred.

Knowledge of basic medical terminology is essential.

Must successfully complete the American Trauma Societys Trauma Registrar Course or equivalent and the Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medicines Injury Scaling Course within twelve months of hire.

Must maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by the American College of Surgeons for a Trauma Registrar and Trauma Quality Improvement Program participant.

Continuing education with focus of obtaining CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry) and/or CAISS (Certified Abbreviated Injury Scoring Specialist) is recommended.

On-going trauma database training required.

Must possess strong clerical skills such as typing, filing and record keeping.

Must possess excellent knowledge and skills regarding computer information systems and advanced software functions.

Position has frequent interaction with in-house and outlying area physicians, nursing staff, EMS agencies, other departments and media representatives. Therefore must have the sensitivity, maturity and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Must maintain hospital mandatory education and training.

AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is preferred.
