Position/Job Title: Modeling, Simulation and Analysis S/W Developer (Journeyman) (L2)

Work Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Job Summary:

The Modeling, Simulations, and Analysis Software Developer Journeyman (Journeyman) supports the test team modeling, simulation and analysis requirements in the assessment of system capability and evaluation of tactics, techniques, and procedures. The Developer shall have expertise in open source and proprietary software languages (C++, Python, Java), be able to articulate software and hardware needs in support of the program computational requirements, be able to merge user requirements with complex astrodynamics or other physics-based technical analyses. The Journeyman typically performs all functional duties independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Working with host environments to hold the library of models and execution tools (e.g. SCORE, Smoke & Mirrors, SPySE) to provide a development platform for simulation using model based-systems engineering models, tools, and data storage to/from unclassified to SAP networks.
  • Developing physics-based simulations that can execute from the MBSE diagrams and developing MBSE products (Finite State Machines, Block Definition Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams) that serve as inputs to the simulations to represent United States space control assets for analysis against adversary space capabilities.
  • Developing accessible, dynamic Tactical Decision Aids based for operators and planners as part of test campaigns.
  • Initiating and/or developing requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
  • Providing strategic support, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
  • Providing detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
  • Consulting with clients to define need or problem
  • Assisting with studies and conducting surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions

Education and/or Experience/Skills Required:

  • Must have a Top-Secret clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree with a minimum of 5 years' of relevant DoD work experience
  • 2+ years experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the last five (5) years
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to be innovative and creative and capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and interface easily with senior leadership and other team members
  • Aerospace/industry experience

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.

Security Clearance:

Position requires an active DoD Top Secret Clearance/SCI as a minimum with potential for polygraph
