The Robotics Solutions Team is chartered to drive Flexs business success in robotics field by providing a suite of vertical-centric solutions and providing a focused support to customers throughout their product life cycle. We are seeking a strong Robotics Business Development Director that is passionate about this exciting market and carries excellent track record, to initiate and develop robotic opportunities effectively, configure appropriate solutions and deliver business success for customers.
The Robotics Business Development Director will be based in East Coast, USA, preferably at or near Boston, MA. He/she will play a critical leadership role in Flexs Robotics Solutions Team and serve as a key interface between Flex customers, Flex design engineering community, and Segment multifunctional teams (finance, ops, legal, strategy, marketing, etc.). This person will be responsible for qualifying, architectural design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's overall systems, selling and leading first customer interactions for the targeted Robotics Customers, by providing technical insight, go fast planning, facilitating contract, pricing and readiness to capture the first business win of prototype, design and assembly as per customers expectations. He or she will also be responsible for participating in the formation of corporate and strategic plans and to create new business and sustain current accounts.

Here is a glimpse of what youll do
Stays on top of the industry trend and leading-edge technologies in robotic field, including industrial robots, warehouse/logistics robots, AGVs, service/hospitality robots, educational/entertainment robots, etc.
Develop new strategic alliances with key customers effectively and aggressively. Analyze and understand customers business strategy, future product plans, and expansion activities and align Flex resources where mutually beneficial.
Review and document customer requirements, identify new opportunities, and translate customer requirements into scopes that meet both Flex capability and customers specifications.
Work with engineering teams on technology and product definitions as well as implementation and integration strategies required for solution delivery. Work with engineering and supply chain to estimate product/solution development costs and timelines. Prepare detailed project plans by incorporating design, supply chain, and manufacturing capabilities in order to meet customers expectations.
Define business priorities through a broad and far vision of market and technology need. Initiate and manage all business development activities that will strengthen, expand and drive market penetration.
Drive and own all aspects in solution sales including initial pitching, planning/preparation for complex proposals, contract negotiation, and deal life-cycle management.
Assist current accounts in the development and execution, and act as a focal point in delivering Flexs solutions which may include concept development, industrial design, manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, services support and reverse logistics.
Work closely with the business development team and the finance department to control budgets within the department.
Support senior management with regard to managing and evaluating key personnel and in terms of talent acquisition to provide further potential to business resources.
Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
Here is some of what youll need (required)
Bachelors degree in engineering or sciences.
8-10 years of technical business development experience and/or progressively advancing account management experience
Experiences with Robotics or motion-controlled electromechanical products and systems (examples: AGV, service/hospitality robots, educational/entertainment robots, and industrial robots, etc), or supply chain experiences in Robotics building blocks (examples: motion control, sensing, power, vision/audio, etc.)
Multifunctional team management and collaboration experiences
Ability to communicate conceptual ideas, system architecture and design rationales in all phases of development and manufacturing
Excellent skillsets in business development and negotiation of commercial issues (price, contract terms, etc.) and strong track record in deal-closing for design-lead manufacturing businesses.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - direct & unassuming, with the ability to quickly assess complex issues and discern the key messages to bring back. Be able to rapidly convert technical and product information into high-quality, aesthetically pleasing customer-facing materials. Hold high standard of work product quality
Business Mindset ability to assign new business models to given opportunities, converting prospects into customers with high profitability, high likelihood for higher volume success, and carry the excellent first experience into a long-term partnership
Strong business and financial acumen with understanding of various Business models. Strong analytical ability and attention to detail

Here are a few of our preferred experiences
MBA is preferred
3-5 years experience of full lifecycle hardware product management and launches (from design to NPI to mass production) across multiple product lines are highly desirable
Strong team building & leadership skills with the ability to build commitment and intense collaboration within the team
Deep operational experience (Factory & Development PM)
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
