Position Description:

Reporting to the VP, Head of GI & Thyroid Marketing, the Director, Marketing Strategy will lead the development of the three-year strategic brand plan, annual strategic plan, and line extension launch planning for possible new GI and thyroid products and/or indications.

Position Requirements:

Lead the cross functional effort required to generate and refresh the HCC 3 year and annual strategic brand plans
Communicate and ensure organizational alignment to HCC strategic brand plan
Manage the brand financial plan
Collaborate with the commercial operations team to ensure effective forecast development for HCC & Thyroid indications
Support the brand by conducting periodic, deep-dive market assessments
Collaborate with commercial operations to optimize market research effecting HCC & Thyroid brand strategy
Drive appropriate choices for required target product profile
Collaborate with Sales Operations for development of sales incentives and sales analytics
Responsible for managing the HCC & Thyroid brand budget and supports necessary ROI analysis
Engage with GI & Thyroid key customers and accounts to develop market insights
Execute HCC & Thyroid strategic programs as required by the brand
Lead future launch planning efforts for GI & Thyroid indications
Oversee the development & execution of advisory boards, peer-to-peer, and indication focused conferences
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern Exelixis conduct
Other duties as assigned

Directly supervise employees
Indirectly supervise employees through a dotted line structure or via other subordinate supervisors

Master's degree in related discipline and 10 years of related experience; or
BS/BA degree in related discipline and 12 years of related experience; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience

Pharmaceutical marketing and/or strategic consulting experience
Sales, sales management, and managed care experiences are plus
Oncology experience is required

Ability to develop sound strategic concepts and clearly articulate these to brand and cross-functional team members
Cross functional leadership with the ability to build consensus and drive key decisions
High level of learning agility; comprehends all aspects of the market place that effect current and future brand performance (e.g. coverage, distribution, sales incentives, regulatory, and finance)
Effective presentation and written communication skills
Understanding of FDA Regulations of pharmaceutical drug promotions and experience with Legal, Medical and Regulatory review processes
Knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms for both injectable and specialty oral medications
Knowledge of managed care environment, including pharmacy and medical benefit design
Strong command of MS Excel and financial modeling ability
Project management skills
