Insights play a central role at CBS Interactive, and as part of the Data & Insights Group (DIG), our Research team is a crucial part of our success. This is a great opportunity for an experienced quantitative researcher to lead a research team and build on their career in the exciting and fast-changing world of online media working on brands such as, and Our team is collaborative and passionate and aims to drive business decisions on all levels through high quality, accurate, timely, relevant data, analysis and insights. This position will primarily focus on managing and conducting a wide range of quantitative research to support all stakeholders including product development, marketing, editorial content, and executive management. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, have a solid background in quantitative research and have experience managing and mentoring others.

Day to Day Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and mentor a team of researchers
  • Act as a thought leader in market research, while advocating for people who use our products
  • Provide senior executives, product and marketing teams with market and consumer research to support strategy and product development
  • Recommend appropriate research methodologies to answer questions from stakeholders
  • Design and execute all phases of quantitative research studies including research plan development, questionnaire writing, survey programming, analysis, and report writing
  • Generate insights related to business strategy and communicate them in a compelling and creative way through storytelling and data visualization
  • Run ad hoc analyses in SPSS or other tools to answer specific day-to- day questions or support larger initiatives
  • Work cross-functionally with product management, business intelligence, and marketing
  • Stay abreast of competitive product offerings and user experiences across all platforms

Key Projects (including but not limited to):

  • Audience profiling surveys on CBS sites/apps, as well as general market studies using a panel provider
  • 1-on-1 usability testing of our sites/apps, both in-person and online

  • Focus groups for concept testing and editorial content feedback


What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • 5 years+ of quantitative market research experience with a proven track record of leveraging analytics to drive significant business impact, preferably in digital subscription services, digital media or a research agency

  • Highly competent with quantitative data analysis and utilizing data to drive decision-making

  • Extensive knowledge of SPSS including stat testing, merging datasets, weighting and creating variables

  • Experience with survey-based platforms, such as Qualtrics

  • Skilled in preparing effective and meaningful presentations with clear narratives and impactful graphics to drive business decisions

  • Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills that can collaborate cross-functionally as well as with research team counterparts

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Exceptional analytical abilities with strong data analysis, MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Have a passion for entertainment, sports and news content

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of Market Research & Insights professionals

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree, master's level education an asset
