6+ months - Length of assignment may be extended based on business needs
Work with Project Team to review project intent and flush out technical requirements.
Perform complex database work with minimum guidance, such as design and develop new or enhance existing database schema, create stored procedure, views for application or database system.
Work with Tech lead and other developers to create optimized database interface for applications, end users or downstream systems.
Responsible for performance tuning and optimization of stored procedures and indexes.
Mentor junior database dev for complex development or troubleshooting work.
Advocate database standard and best practice and contribute ideas to enhance them
Production Support: Support of Operations Team with data manipulation and ad-hoc reporting. Work with IT team and end-users to help troubleshoot problems. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical database incidents. After-hours support for application release and change management activities.
Perform code review of colleagues work to ensure consistency and viability of logic.
Efficient in using TFS source control and auto build/deployment process.
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent preferred
Minimum 10+ years overall IT experience, including hands-on expertise with recent relational database development and integration.
8+ years of MS SQL server experience in designing, implementing and administrating database system on multiple MS SQL Server versions (V2017 to V2020)
5+ years experienced in configuring and maintaining the performance of large / critical MS SQL Server database system
Experience in ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica) and database integration with Oracle, SQL Server and other databases
Expertise using T-SQL for developing complex database objects such as stored procedures, functions, complex query
Must have experience in data analysis and business requirements gathering (experience in writing business-driven user stories will be an advantage)
Advanced skill in performance tuning for indexes, and stored procedure/query optimization
Advanced knowledge of RDBMS such as OLTP & OLAP systems, especially SQL server; good at utilizing SSAS, SSIS or SSAS
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting database related issues
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent in creating visually dynamic presentations to demonstrate before and after results
Ability to understand business problems and articulate a corresponding solution
Ability to manage mission critical or highly available platforms or applications
Proactive team player with a can-do attitude.
Experience in Agile methodology is a plus.
Able to work in a complex and fast-changing environment
Able to learn new technologies
