Reporting to the Assessments and Implementation Strategist, Senior Manager, the Assessments and Implementation Strategist, Principal is responsible for being BSCs front line leader enabling clinical innovation on site with our key strategic partners. S/he will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team who partners directly with our state-wide provider partners to define the future care delivery model, implement new technologies, redesign process and change organizational models to make the future of health care a reality. The Assessments and Implementation Strategist, Principal will also be responsible for partnering with others on the Healthcare and Community Health Transformation team to baseline new provider partners capabilities and help develop improvement road maps tied to our mutual objectives. The Assessments and Implementation Strategist, Principal will also participate cross-functionally in other larger enterprise projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support broader health transformation strategies. Moreover, the Assessments and Implementation Strategist, Principal may be responsible for leading a team of Consultants and/or Analysts, assigning and monitoring work of team members and providing guidance and leadership for other multidisciplinary efforts. This position will require statewide travel; however, two regional teams are being created in Northern (based in Oakland or El Dorado Hills) and Southern California (based in Woodland Hills) to maximize travel efficiency. Essential Responsibilities: Lead strategy, planning, and execution around business improvements opportunities with our Provider Partners. Help draw alignment on opportunities to optimize business models, incentive systems and performance management tools. Plan approach to root cause analysis, quantitative data analysis and interpretation, customer journey mapping, and horizontal process analysis to implement new policies, capabilities and processes. Uses system thinking to facilitate the transformation of new innovative capabilities into the care delivery model and fundamentally shift the cost, quality or experience from the model. Manipulate large, unstructured data sets to develop customer and operation insights for Senior/Executive Management review. Lead or participate in customer facing focus groups to document end to end customer journey and needs. Recommend processes for ongoing measurement, monitoring and reporting of progress on key metrics and facilitates executive briefings. Facilitate external benchmarking and customer research to establish program goals and strategies. Partner with multiple departments in implementing solutions and setting up and coaching improvement projects within the provider organizations.
Qualifications - External
Knowledge & Experience: Requires a BA/BS. Graduate degree (e.g. MBA, MHA) is highly desirable. A degree in a clinical discipline (e.g. RN, PA, PharmD, or related) desirable but not required. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a clinical setting or in Healthcare Management Consulting working directly with providers, staff, and patients. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Typically, viewed as a specialist within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management. One or more of these certifications are preferred: Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking 5 years of Six Sigma or Lean experience preferred Process optimization in a care delivery setting preferred EMR workflow optimization preferred Advanced knowledge of data analysis and dashboards Knowledgeable with Alternative Payment Models and Value Based Purchasing Proficiency in driving cross-functional projects Knowledge of change management concepts and techniques. Superb communication skills, proficient oral and written presentation Translate complex concepts into simple consumable artifacts Proficiency in navigating complex programs and driving/collaborating on components to support the larger scope
