The Director, Marketing is responsible for establishing overall umbrella marketing strategy, bringing cohesion and synergy to the various marketing initiatives within the organization. He/she will possess a strong, hands-on strategic business background to promote CRF and its divisions, as well as experience in managing teams, inspiring others and driving dynamic ideas to connect with all audiences. The Director, Marketing will create and implement dynamic and targeted marketing programs, raising awareness and enhancing revenue generation for the Cardiovascular Research Foundation and its divisions, departments and programs. Skilled at reaching a sophisticated range of target audiences (e.g., Corporate, CRF Skirball Center for Innovation, CRF Center for Education, CRF Clinical Trials Center, TCTMD, Structural Heart Journal, as well as the public-facing areas of Philanthropy and Fundraising and the Women s Heart Health Initiative, etc). The incumbent will ensure that CRF s message is synergistic among divisions and distributed across multiple channels to targeted audiences.
The marketing team is a service department to other departments and divisions. In addition to providing all aspects of strategic marketing and analysis, this position manages marketing and creative functions including Creative Services (Graphic Design, Web Development, Copywriting), Project Management and the Multimedia Studio, Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving issues. Responsible for fostering a customer-service focused environment, encouraging the team to work collaboratively with other divisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the quality and execution of the brand and marketing functions of CRF. Develops overall positioning and implements strategic multi-media marketing plans
Builds, leads, and manages exceptional cross-functional marketing and creative services team to produce marketing collateral
Works closely with internal client divisions and department directors to implement strategic creative and marketing plans for promoting their activities and meeting their business objectives
Strategic planning and analysis of market trends in order to increase revenue generation, market existing and new products and programs. Develop campaigns that translate business objectives into clear and motivating marketing strategies
Oversees print production, web design and app development projects: concept development, design, production and implementation. Manage content strategy for both small-scale and large-scale projects
Builds teamwork and ensures effective communication with multimedia team
Maintains consistency of branding and copy across all media platforms. Manage project workflow in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Conducts market analysis to ensure we are reaching the target audience(s) for each of CRF s divisions
Able to deliver high-quality programs and services within budget limitations. Identifies risks and critical success factors for individual projects to ensure on-time and on-budget implementations
Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field or the equivalent work experience.
7 + Years of experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing vision and the message platform to overseeing production on time and budget
Minimum 7-year proven track record of managing people, projects, and resources; demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team
Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product and service management
Up-to-date working knowledge and proven implementation of targeted marketing; strong command of the latest creative trends in digital and social media and all new media platforms
Wide ranging writing/editing ability for all current media: promotional copy for brochures, websites, social media, fundraising appeals, video scripts and other messaging
Superb analytical skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
High level of creativity, strategy and foresight; solid understanding and passion for CRF s mission
Flexibility and ability to identify and react quickly to current events and changing market conditions and work within tight timetables and budgets
Strong business background with an entrepreneurial outlook
Understanding of changing market dynamics
Able to build esprit de corps through strong internal communications programs
