The Associate Scientist will be a part of a fast-faced and motivated drug discovery group and contribute directly to research towards developing new mJob DescriptionThe Alzheimer's Disease \\u0026 Dementia Research Unit at Biogen is seeking a highly talented, motivated and technically skilled candidate to join a fast-paced and driven drug discovery group focused on the identification and rapid progression of novel therapeutics to human for Alzheimer's disease in the role of Associate Scientist II. The candidate will be responsible for: Planning and executing experiments including analysis and interpretation of experimental data in consultation with scientists within the group. Experiments will include both in vitro and in vivo studies including assay development, mechanism of action and in vitro/in vivo pharmacology studies. Working effectively and collaboratively with other scientists in the group and in cross-functional project teams.Qualifications Strong expertise in biochemistry techniques such as western blot, ELISA, immunoprecipitation. Direct experience in cell culture including cell lines, primary cells and iPSC derived cells, and ability to assess biochemical and molecular endpoints in cells. Direct molecular biology expertise such as in RNA extraction from both cells and tissues and qPCR. Direct experience with carrying out in vivo studies and analyzing end points using biochemistry and molecular biology. Experience with immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry would be a plus. Drug discovery experience in neuroscience would be a plus. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to clearly communicate results to a scientific audience and to maintain detailed written records.EducationB.S. in Neuroscience or biological sciences with a minimum of 4 years or M.S. in Neuroscience or biological sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience in academia or industry.All individuals deserve the right to achieve their full potential.
