Research Associate, Non-Clinical?

Position Summary



The candidate will support advancement of innovative AAV-based therapeutics by using a variety of research methods including mammalian cell culture, molecular and biochemical techniques, and cell-based assays.



Responsibilities




  • Work on a dynamic team to model/validate AAV gene therapy vectors in vitro/in vivo

  • Design, execute, and optimize cell-based, biochemical, and molecular assays

  • Help establish Non-Clinical in vitro analysis pipeline for new gene therapy targets

  • Analyze, document, and present technical data and reports at team meetings



Qualifications




  • B.S. or equivalent degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Virology or related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Mammalian cell culture techniques (such as culturing cell lines, plasmid transfection, viral transduction) preferred. Experience with primary cell lines a plus.

  • Experience with plate based assays for cell viability, enzymatic activity, and/or biomarker validation strongly preferred.

  • Experience with molecular and biochemical methods (such as nucleic acid/protein extraction, RT-qPCR, PCR, Westerns, IF) preferred.

  • Familiarity with standard data analysis software.

  • Experience with experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting.

  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be highly motivated, curious, and eager to learn/apply new skills.

  • Must function efficiently and problem solve in a fast-paced research environment.
